Founder & Resident Artist at Katharsis
Mazira
Mazira is the founder and resident artist of Katharsis, working primarily with blackwork and exploring the darker, more distorted side of organic forms. Her visual language draws inspiration from nature, anatomy, decay, and the strange beauty of things that exist somewhere between the familiar and the unreal. Organic textures, twisted shapes, and grotesque elements become the foundation for designs that feel almost alive — yet strangely out of place. Rather than simply reproducing what exists in nature, Mazira reinterprets it. Familiar forms are distorted, reimagined, and pushed beyond their natural limits, creating imagery that feels both organic and otherworldly. Something that could have existed, but never quite did. Her work moves between dark, twisted, and gore-inspired aesthetics, combining the raw intensity of blackwork with a fascination for the imperfect, the unsettling, and the beautifully strange. For Mazira, inspiration isn’t always about finding something beautiful. Sometimes, it’s about looking at something ordinary and imagining what it could become if nature took a different turn. Organic in origin. Distorted by imagination. Made permanent in black.
All of our artists have their own signature style, which they specialize in, but they’re also open to exploring other styles and designs upon request. Feel free to reach out to discuss your idea and find the best fit for your tattoo.
